Travel Information to Geneva

Swiss International Air Lines is proud to be the Official Carrier for the Geneva Health Forum (GHF) 2010 and is offerring special Congress Fares to all participants. These Congress Fares offer reductions of up to 25% depending on the fare type, route and space availability.

Congress Fares are valid on the entire SWISS route network for flights to Switzerland, including flights operated by partner airlines under an LX flight number. These fares are now bookable for the travel period 14 days prior to and 14 days after the event.

Free travel card

During your stay in Geneva, if you are staying at a hotel or youth hostel, you are entitled to a free "Geneva Transport Card". This card can be issued to you by your hotel and is valid for the duration of your stay.

This card, in the form of a "credit card" is personalized and thus can only be used by you. It can be used without restriction for the entire Geneva public transport network for the zone "Tout Genève" (all of Geneva).

Airport

There will be a Geneva Health Forum desk at the airport. It will be open Sunday 18, Monday 19, and Tuesday 20 April from 8am to 6pm.

The Geneva International Airport is located at 5 km/3 miles from the city centre and from the CICG conference centre.

Free transportation from the airport to your accommodation

You can pick up a free ticket for public transport from the machine in the baggage collection area at the Arrival level. This Unireso ticket, offered by Geneva International Airport, allows you to use public transport in Geneva free for a period of 80 minutes.

Train

Trains run regularly from Geneva International Airport to Cornavin Station (main station in the city centre). From there buses and trams go to the CICG conference centre.

Bus

  • Bus no. 10 runs from Geneva International Airport to the city centre.
  • Bus no. 5 (direction "Hopital") runs from Geneva International Airport, stops at Cornavin Station, and goes to the CICG conference centre (stop at "Place du Grand-Saconnex").
  • Bus no. 28 (direction "Jardin Botanique") runs from Geneva International Airport to the CICG conference centre (stop at "Varembé).

Tram

Tram no. 13 (direction "Nations") runs from Cornavin Station to nearby the CICG conference centre (stop at "Place des Nations).

Taxi

Taxis carry a maximum of four passengers. Transfer from airport to most hotels (approximately 15 minutes).
Cost: CHF 30-40.

Parking

There is a public parking located next to the CICG.
