Submit an Abstract

General Information

Abstract submission / Call for abstracts

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION IS NOW CLOSED

The Abstract Review Committee will select submitted abstracts and determine whether they are accepted for oral presentation (as part of a parallel session or free communication session) or poster presentation.

Abstract submission / Guidelines

Please read this information carefully:

Only abstracts submitted on-line are eligible (abstracts sent by e-mail, regular post, or fax will not be accepted). English is the sole language accepted for abstracts.

The on-line Abstract Submission system contains the following fields (* indicates mandatory fields):

Abstract Title*, which clearly and concisely indicates the content of the abstract

Authors' names and institutional affiliations*

Keywords*

Methods

Results / Conclusions*

  • The abstracts will be assessed by the Review Committee considering their relevance to the Geneva Health Forum 2010 themes, concreteness of the subject (case studies, field experience), level of innovation and originality of the work, English language standards, objectivity of statements, conclusions confirmed by objective results, ethics, and overall scientific value. It is important to keep in mind that the Geneva Health Forum gives privilege to abstracts presenting concrete examples rather than general theoretical statements.
  • In line with 2010 edition's theme, we are particularly interested in abstracts looking at the local impacts of globalisation on health and health systems, should they be positive or negative. We encourage papers that not only bring local perspectives, but also propose avenues for action to improve access to health. Before submitting an abstract, please consult the 2010 conference themes
  • Once your abstract has been successfully submitted, you will receive a confirmation number. If no confirmation number is received, the abstract has not been submitted correctly and will not be taken into consideration.
  • Technicalities: 4000 characters (including visible and non-visible characters) is the maximum total length of abstracts (the on-line system will inform you if this limit has been reached); one table and one image can be uploaded with your abstract (maximum size 500 KB; type for images gif or jpg).
  • The on-line Abstract Submission System works best with Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0.
  • An abstract can only be accepted if an ethical declaration is 'signed' by entering your initials on the on-line abstract form.
  • Abstracts that are accepted, and for which a presentation (oral or poster) has been confirmed, will be printed in the Geneva Health Forum 2010 Final Programme and Abstract Book. This publication is distributed to all participants and will be available in pdf form on the conference website.
  • Abstracts that do not follow these guidelines will not be accepted.
  • The final decision concerning an abstract is taken by the Abstract Review Committee of the Geneva Health Forum 2010.
